The boys in Belguim are having a great time. Here are just a few photos of Cody racing in the World Cup on December 26th, 2008. There were over 50,000 fans at the race that day.
Kinetic Cycles staff Cody, and Rich, continue their success at Cyclocross Nationals last weekend. The conditions were pretty epic on Friday. The course was so muddy that Cody was taking bike changes every lap. By Saturday the course was getting faster and drier. Then Sunday all hell broke loose. The temperature plummeted 40 degrees during the day and the wind was howling. Our boys faired very well. Cody was fourth in the Elite Juniors 17 -18. His teammate Jeremy Ferguson finished 17th in the U-23 against a very deep field. And Rich overcame a bout of food poisoning and an 8th row start to finish 7th. Way to go guys!!
Typically US Cyclocross Nationals marks the end of a season for many cyclocrosser’s. Not our boys. Rich will be racing locally into January. Cody and Jeremy are off to Belgium to attend Euro Cross Camp, for 15 days of intense training and racing including a World Cup race in Holland in front of an expected crowd of 50,000+. It should be off the hook. Follow the boys here at our website or their blog site www.euroberries.blogspot.com. GO KICK SOME BELGIUM A--!!

The Kinetic Guys, Cody and Rich have been busy with the 08 Cross season.
Since Las Vegas, Cody and Rich have been racing locally, regionally, and nationally with great results.
October 19th both tore it up in the 1st race of the Bay Area Super Prestige Series with Cody claiming 4th and Rich finishing 11th out of more than 40 of the top Elite men in the area.
October 26th both raced at the annual Surf City Psycho-Cross Halloween event. Cody almost grabbed the win from his Cal Giant teammate Justin Robinson but ended up finishing 2nd while Rich took the lead early but finished up 7th.
November 2nd Cody finished 2nd in round 2 of the Bay Area Super Prestige Series at Candlestick Point while Rich was dominating the 45+ men’s events at the Boulder Cup in Boulder Colo. Rich is so fast that he won both Sat & Sun on his Single Speed Cross bike against all the guys with gears.
November 9th Cody will be with his Cal Giant Team in LA chasing UCI Points at Dam Cross and Rich will be hosting round 3 of the NCNCA Cup here in Sac at Discovery Park.
November 15 and 16 Cody will be at Round 3 & 4 of the Crank Brothers Grand Prix of Cyclocross in Trenton NJ and Rich will be racing in the Bay Area Super Prestige Round 3 at Sierra Point.
The cool air of fall means one thing, that Cyclocross is here. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Cross. It is a bunch of skinny dorks on road bikes with knobby tires trying to negotiate, combinations of pavement, mud, sand, grass, ice, snow, and forced dismounts over barriers and/or stairs. All kidding aside. Cyclocross is one of the more difficult types of racing that cycling has to offer. Lance Armstrong recently called it the most difficult hour of racing that he had ever done. Be sure to check out some of the pictures on the site. Kinetic Cycles is the hub for Cyclocross in the Sacramento Region. We are fortunate to have 2 of the premier racers in Nor Cal and the country on our staff. Rich Maile and Cody Kaiser, Rich representing Specialized and Sac Cyclocross, and Cody racing for California Giant Berry Farms/Specialized. Both recently raced well at the second annual CrossVegas event, attended by thousands of cycling fans and industry insiders. The field of 90 pros and elite level racers including National Champion Tim Johnson, former National Champion Ryan Trebon (a Kinetic visitor by the way) multiple time World Champions, Thomas Frischknect and Christoph Sauser, and many other National Champions and Olympic Competitors. Oh Yeah and a Guy named Lance Armstrong as well. The night was “totally off the hook”. The race was fast and the attacks were furious and the crowd was going crazy. Be sure to check out the Kinetic calendar or www.sacramentocx.com for all the local races and results. Come out and join the fun. We’ll also keep you posted here how the boys are doing as the season progresses.
